DESCRIPTION
Penicillin G Procaine & Dihydrostreptomycin Sulfate Injection is provided as a white or off-white suspension.


PHARMACOLOGICAL ACTIONS
The combination of penicillin G procaine and dihydrostreptomycin acts additive and in some cases synergistic.
Procaine penicillin G is a small-spectrum penicillin with a bactericidal action against mainly Gram-positive bacteria like Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, Erysipelothrix, Haemophilus, Listeria, penicillinase negative Staphylococcus and Streptococcus spp.
Dihydrostreptomycin is an aminoglycoside with a bactericidal action against mainly Gram-negative bacteria like E.coli, Klebsiella, Pasteurella, Salmonella and Staphylococcus spp.


INDICATIONS
Arthritis, mastitis and gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary tract infection caused by penicillin and dihydrostreptomycin sensitive micro-organisms, like Campylobacter, Clostridium, Corynebacterium, E.coli, Erysipelothrix, Haemophllus, Klebsiolla, Listeria, Pasteurella, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus spp., in calves, cattle, goats, sheep and swine.


CONTRA-INDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to penicillin, procaine and/or aminoglycosides.
Administration to animals with a serious impaired renal function.
Concurrent administration with tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, macrolides and lincosamides.


SIDE EFFECTS
Administration of therapeutic dosages of penicillin G procaine can result in abortion in sows. Ototoxity, neurotoxicity or nephrotoxicity.
Hypersensitivity reactions.


DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION
By intramuscular injection. Never intravenously. Shake well before use.
Cattle,horses:1ml per 20kg b.w. daily for 3-5 days.
Sheep goats,pigs:1ml per 20kg b.w. daily for 3-5 days
Young animals: dosage 50% higher.


WITHDRAWAL TIME
28 days for meat and edible tissues.  3 days for milk.


PACKING
In a 50ml or 100ml glass bottle.


STORAGE
Store in cool, dry place under 25, away from sunlight.
